This is one of the best kept corporate junks available on the market. Commissioned by Jardine Matheson in 1995, HIGHLAND THISTLE was built by the Sun Hing Shing Shipyard in Aberdeen and used as a corporate junk for entertainment and recreational weekend day trips. Considered a one-of-a-kind, her exceptionally wide beam makes the junk feel much bigger than her competitors. The entertainment areas feel particularly spacious. Even the engine room is big enough to allow several people to work on the engines and generators at the same time, which is rare in this model of junk. Fully crewed and continually staffed, with her own dedicated Captain, this junk has received a full maintenance schedule which now reflects well in terms of the junk’s upkeep and current condition. With proper care, HIGHLAND THISTLE can continue to serve as a corporate day tripper or entertainment platform for charters. The vessel has been inspected and surveyed by a registered surveyor BEFORE being put up for sale. The hull planking is solid teak, with yakal (Hopea plagata) frames. The deck is plywood with a thin layer of fibreglass and teak decking laid over.  Down below, there is a large galley area with full gas stove for catering and an upright full-size domestic fridge. To port is a day head toilet. Forward, there is a cabin with double berth bunk and  an ensuite bathroom. She is one of the best wooden-built Hong Kong junks currently on the market. The vessel is located in Aberdeen.
